Where Were
the Warriors?

“And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits, like frogs; For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them together for the war of the great day of God, the Almighty.” ~ Revelation 16:13-14
All believers have the power to overcome demon-possessed individuals like the one who recently destroyed so many lives at Virginia Tech.
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” ~ Acts 1:8
Twenty years ago, the Lord led me to a secular concert in order to show me the strategy Satan has for destroying America. The Lord supernaturally opened the doors to allow three of us into this particular concert. This popular singer led the sold-out crowd into a frenzy with his music and message.  During this concert he preached a three part sermon on anarchy. The three main points to his message were given to the crowd as if they were marching orders- rebel against the government, rebel against the schools, and rebel against the parents. The message was clear and the crowd loved him. Roaring applause and standing ovations were continuous throughout the evening. The crowd was excited about enlisting in this army of destruction.
I personally believe that the lead singer of this group is an example of one of the kings spoken of in Revelation 16.  A king represents one in authority and today’s rock stars are definitely leaders with considerable influence. The demons that were speaking through this singer were recruiting young people who have been hurt, oppressed, and/or abused.  Satan’s strategy is to recruit those in our society who are full of rage. More than just angry at the system, many young people are convinced that the Lord is responsible for everything bad that has happened to them. They are looking for an avenue to vent their frustration.
The deception they are living in can only be removed by an encounter with the Lord.  By sharing the gospel with them, the Holy Spirit is able to reveal the Truth to their hurting hearts. Believers willing to carry the gospel to those in our nation who are confused and full of rage can make a difference. If we fail to answer the call I am afraid that we have not seen anything yet.
Many of Satan’s workers are still being trained. He is just testing the waters by sending out a few workers of destruction here and there… waiting for the appropriate time for a full assault on America. We have pushed God so far out of our country, so why should we expect Him to protect us? Our nation has replaced Him with a false, “combo” god that includes Allah, Hinduism, and any other god you choose to believe in. No matter how convenient this may feel, God’s Word is clear; “I am the Lord, and there is no other.” (Isaiah 44:5)
Is there hope?  Yes, there is hope. After my experience at that concert, the Lord took me to Ezekiel 37 and the vision of dry bones.  He reminded me that although America was full of dead and dry bones, He was willing to breathe life back into America.  But in order for Him to breathe that life back, we must be willing to go and preach the gospel.
“Again He said to me, prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord God to these bones, behold I will cause breath to enter you that you may come to life. So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they came to life, and stood on their feet an exceedingly great army.”
~ Ezekiel 37:4-5, 10
Translating this to today’s culture is relatively easy. How can they hear unless we tell them? Most people I talk with on the streets have little understanding of who Jesus Christ really is.  Once they know the Truth, God can breathe life back into these dead and dry individuals and we will see our nation restored.
I personally believe that if the church was doing it’s job, we could have intercepted this demon-possessed man at Virginia Tech.  Where were the laborers at Virginia Tech? You may think I am being too critical, but I have seen God change people right before my eyes. I look at many churches in America today who are just too busy to enter the harvest fields.  I sense the grief of the Holy Spirit and I see the Lord weeping as many of His deceived children are led to the slaughterhouse. I believe the deranged man at Virginia tech could have been stopped. This conclusion begs me to ask, “Where are the warriors of the Lord?”
Since that concert 20 years ago, I have taken teams of believers to various secular concerts every summer. We have witnessed God rescue Satan’s slaves. If you are tired of church as usual and are ready to go to war but do not know where to start, contact us at 972-724-7800 or email us at nligon@executinghisword.com and we will hook you up. If you are a pastor who is looking for ways to lead your congregation into the harvest field, give us a call.
