In my last article, we discussed the benefits and necessity of sharing our faith. In seems fitting that I now give direction as to how we deliver the message of the Gospel to the world. Before you begin, you must remember that it is not our job to change the people. A response to our message and the acceptance of salvation comes only by faith, and faith only comes by the Word of God.
Romans 10:17 (KJV)
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Since the Word is the key, we must understand that the more Scripture we can share with them, the more likely they will be to embrace the message of the Gospel. As you begin to witness, you must have an arsenal of Scriptures that you understand and can explain. Those found below are a few of my favorites. I have listed them and added a brief explanation as to why they work. I use these and countless others each time I witness. If you can get people to listen to these Scriptures, you will have accomplished the entire purpose for our existence on this earth. The results will be up to God and the individual.
Romans 10:13 (KJV)
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
When those we witness to take the first step by calling on the name of the Lord, then it is easy to get them to church and get them baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit because the Lord is now inside them. He then begins to direct their steps. They may not end up in “our” church, but they do end up in “His.” May God grant you the wisdom and ability to take His Word and share it with those that do not know Him.
John 3:16 (KJV)
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
The Gospel is all about God’s love for us and the incredible price He
paid to save us from destruction.
Romans 3:23 (KJV)
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
Man is a sinner and his sin separates him from God. While this is the
beginning of the Gospel, the redemption found in the rest of the
message is the true key.
Romans 6:23 (KJV)
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
The gift that God offers unto everyone is eternal life. We once deserved
the penalty for our sins, but we can receive a pathway unto
righteousness through the only Son of God, Jesus Christ.
John 1:1 (KJV)
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
Although many people know of God and Jesus, few actually know that
Jesus was God in the flesh. Even fewer know that he was our Rescuer
and Redeemer.
Revelation 3:20 (KJV)
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”
Jesus stands at the door of each heart ready to come in and establish a
relationship with them. All man must do is open the door and invite Him
in.
