The American church is facing it’s biggest giant since the creation of this nation. We, as a church, have been seduced into a drug and sleep related stupor brought on by our unquenchable lust for enjoying the pleasures of this world. (see 2 Timothy 3:1-5)  This giant has trapped us into believing that because the objects of our affection are not, in themselves, sinful, we can indulge ourselves into a Roman-type orgy. Sports, television, video games, boating, fashion shows, golf, and theater are just a few examples of how activities and things have consumed our time and produced very weak Christians.

 

Even our so called spirit-filled churches and Christian television programs have become a stage to satisfy our need to “feel good” about ourselves and figure out ways to make more money. Ephesians 5:15-16 says, “Therefore, be careful how you walk, not as unwise men, but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil.”

 

The stage is set for the destruction of America as we know it. Many of our church leaders have spent their time planning golf tournaments and cruise trips instead of getting ahold of God in order to hear how they might plan for the destruction that is on its way.  The Lord has been pushed out of every facet of American society - politics, government, business, education, and family life.  How can we expect Him to protect us from the coming demonic invasion?

 

I heard a pastor once define God’s wrath as “God not doing anything to prevent disaster,” or as some might say, “the lack of the display of His mercy.”  However you might want to define the wrath of God, it is a fact of Biblical history.  America has been acting just like the people of Israel in the Old Testament and so we should not expect any different results.  God chose Israel and I believe He chose America as well. Israel’s light grew dim and so has America’s.  I believe that it is evident that we have turned our back on our calling.

 

For those of you who know, deep down inside, that I’m right, it’s not too late. Make a decision to get alone with God and ask Him how to prepare for what’s ahead.  For me, the Lord has been instructing me to enlist and train His servants on how to rescue the few that will survive the multiple disasters that are on the way.  Our job will not be to put out the fire.  Rather, it will be to rescue individuals that the Lord will send us into the fire to save.  This is a very important concept for you to understand;  Whether it is a fire, nuclear radiation, or a city consumed with a deadly plague, the Lord is going to require us to have the faith to enter the killing fields in order to save individual lives.  If you are not already in the business of saving souls, you may be consumed along with the nonbelievers.  It will be too late for you to read the instruction manual on how to save souls. (Note:  I am not implying that believers will go to hell, just that they will not be ready to overcome the coming terror.)

 

Are you ready to enlist in God’s rescue and recovery units?  Are you willing to give up your video games in order to begin training? The prophet Joel prophesied and sounded the alarm on the coming invasion of Israel in Joel 2. However, instead of just focusing on the destruction, he also pointed out that there is nothing more powerful than God’s army. Joel 2:11 reads, “And the Lord utters His voice before His army;  surely His camp is very great;  For strong is the one who carries out His word.  The day of the Lord is indeed great and very awesome, and who can endure it?”

 

Have you enlisted in His army or do you still think it’s okay just to believe in Him?  Are you able to hear His voice as He commands?  Have you experienced the strength of God as you carry His word to nonbelievers?  Do you believe you will be able to endure what’s ahead for America? These are all very vital questions meant to make us pause, consider, think, act, and maybe react. I am praying that you will - that we all will - be ready and able to Execute His Word.
