Adoption

I love being a part of a family. I thought for years that I was “family” because I spent my holidays with a certain group of people. I had to buy for and receive Christmas presents from them. I also had to eat whatever food they brought to a potluck. However, I’ve found in recent times that there is something much deeper to being family. It is indescribable when you learn that these are the people that put up with your attitudes, that celebrate your accomplishments, and that never let you forget your funniest mishap. My family has always been a treasure, but it’s only recently that I’ve thought of them as priceless. I am honored to share a heritage, a history, a reputation, and a name with these people.

Something that we sometimes forget is that our churches and our fellow believers are family as well. We truly are brothers and sisters in Christ; a family not of our blood but of His. And this family needs just as much sacrifice, devotion, and effort as our “natural” family. I think it is awesome to know that I have “family” in every culture, on every continent, and of every color. No matter what separates us from each other, we must remember that nothing can separate us from one another through God, the Father. Sure, our denominations may clash, but our love should overcome them. Our cultures may not understand each other, but our born-again spirits can commune despite the differences.

We have all received a place in this heavenly family through Christ Jesus. We have been set apart and chosen by the Most High God. The Lord has a plan and a heart for His people – His children. Although we come to the Lord as a servant, full of humility and in need of grace, He accepts us. But in His grace, He is not content leaving us where we once were. Upon entering His Kingdom, He transforms us and makes us a son or a daughter. Are we prepared to share this Good News of our Father and our family with
those that still need to be accepted and adopted?

We have the answer that will set millions free.
We have an insight that will change the world.
We have a hope that the rest of the world is seeking.
When do we start to show it?

I dare you to lead the chase.
